... possibly turning this into a H2H points league? ;D... spinning off a separate H2H points league using the same points system to be run on CBS Sportsline (or maybe ESPN?)? I noticed that CBS (and apparently, ESPN also) actually allows this whereas Yahoo does not. Of course, CBS does charge a fee -- probably would cost ~$10 per owner (or maybe slightly less) --though ESPN would still be free, if we go that route. Also, like many others, I'm not too keen on a playoff system that can be impacted way too much by the more-than-usual luck w/ late season surprises and such -- and we can set up CBS to dump the playoff part (though I'm not sure about ESPN). Any thoughts on doing something like that? Could be fun to see our points system get converted into W-L w/ daily (or maybe 3-to-4-day series) matchups, no? And if we do go w/ CBS, there's also more possibility to expanding things like having a small farm system, say 5-man minors, or converting to actual contracts w/ basic salary structure and such, if people are interested in that. There are probably other interesting possibilities as well -- I don't know yet what ESPN offers in those areas. Also, w/ CBS (and apparently ESPN), things can continue more smoothly from season to season since league activity is supported throughout the offseason (and rosters do not need to be reloaded). Anyway, please do chime in and let me know what y'all think. For those who may be completely aversed to such changes, don't worry. I don't intend to force these kinds of changes on the league. If there isn't a very solid consensus toward change, there's always the possibility of looking into spinning off a separate parallel league too w/out taking anything away from this league.Addendum #1: Since there already are objections to such changes from active owners, then this discussion will no longer be about implementing such changes for this league. However, would many of y'all be interested in a separate H2H league using the same points system and running perhaps semi-weekly matchups? CBS's system seems very configurable for these things -- you can actually choose to divide the matchup scheduling in just about any which way that could make sense, eg. you can choose weekly, bi-weekly, monthlly periods and then divide each period into any number of matchups. Addendum #2: Per Graham's suggestion, we could also consider using ESPN, instead of CBS, to keep the league free though I'm not sure if ESPN offers everything we'd need/want at the moment. If there is enough interest, I'll investigate further, but it sounds like it probably does offer enough customizability for most things. Addendum #3: Also, if people prefer, we can even test the waters out first (like was originally done before we started this league) and go w/ a single season, non-keeper test run for this. Then there would be no commitment to go further nor need for you to plan for the long haul (in the actual gameplay anyway). And even if we decide later not to pursue that for a dynasty-like keeper, we could maybe still keep running it as a single-season, non-keeper parallel to this league. ;D Thanks for your consideration...

There is room in this league for small tweeks or improvements if they are needed to address specific problems or deficiencies that we have experienced. However, making major structural changes to this keeper league does not make much sense. Teams have been built with an understanding of the current rules.
If there is interest in the proposed league settings, it would probably be best to start up a separate league with a brand new draft.

I like it just the way it is ~ it's a unique league already, and markedly different from anything else (or anything I've seen, at least), and I see no reason to change it. And I like Yahoo over CBS.
Besides, H2H is a lottery once the playoffs begin ~ I finished one of my leagues, a 20-team 6x6 full keeper, in 1st place: won a bye, then went out on a tiebreaker in round 2. The two weeks of the championship game, I'm killing the two teams who ARE playing for the title. Roto winners prove it over the whole season.

Yes, I definitely agree about the playoff thing though CBS does have to option to run H2H w/out playoffs. ;D
Anyway, since there already are objections to such changes from active owners, then I will not bring this up further as changes for this league.

If you are looking to set up a new league, I would go with ESPN over CBS. I know ESPN has sucked in the past, but the last 2 years they have really improved their fantasy leagues. They have free stat-tracking and a lot more options than yahoo. Plus they also They also have keeper settings, so each year's rosters can just carry over from the previous season. Unlike CBS, ESPN Custom leagues don't cost money to set-up. They also allow for head to points leagues. Another thing they offer is the ability to replace dead owners mid-season, Something that can not be done with Yahoo. games.espn.go.com/flb/content?page=flbrulesscoringcustom2008I know ESPN were total garbage a few years ago, but over the last 2 years I feel they have blown past Yahoo. I now use them for my Dynasty Football League, and have not had one single problem this year. Just something to check out next year if you are looking to start a second league without spending over $100.

If there is enough interest, I'll take a look into ESPN for this. Thanks.

We could also consider giving it a trial run first w/ a non-keeper league and then go from there. ;D
And actually, that might be best as that might also give us a better chance to recruit some others (not already in the B&P league) for this 2nd league since not everyone in B&P may be interested (and we might need to do some recruiting for replacement owners anyhow).
