Please note that by the time we get to this live draft, we should hopefully have gone through a lot of picks in the slow draft. So if you can't make the live draft, submitting a pre-ranked list for me to run proxy picks shouldn't be too bad at that point.

So what's the final word? Does this mean the draft is now moved to Tuesday or are we on for tonight?

Do we have to run a Windows computer and install the official Yahoo Instant Messenger client in order to participate in the draft? Is it possible to participate via some web site using a firefox web browser on Linux, or via a generic im app like gaim?
I tried installing the Linux version of the Yahoo IM client, but it is outdated and will not install on a modern linux machine. Also, I see that Yahoo recently turned off their user created chat rooms, so that is not an option.

Is there any reason we can't continue the draft on this board? Refresh buttons work on all operating systems.

Yeah, looks like we should be good for tomorrow/Tuesday night.
IM would make it easier and more precise, but if it's a problem, I guess we can fall back to using Yahoo's message board for communications like last year. The actual selection of players will be done in Yahoo (via the player add function) by each team owner. Since time is an issue in the live draft, I don't want to have people posting their picks like now and then have me do the actual player adds.
I haven't tried other 3rd party IM apps. If anyone wants to, I guess we could do a simple test tonight.

By "Yahoo message board" do you mean the leagues "Recent Messages" feature?

By "Yahoo message board" do you mean the leagues "Recent Messages" feature? Yeah. That's what I meant -- although you can click the "View All" link to get to a full page w/ the last 50(?) messages. It'd primarily be used for me to tell who's turn it is to pick when the time is up (like last year). People would just use the normal player add function to make the actual picks -- and of course, I'll unlock the function during the live draft. That's all assuming we can't use YIM conferencing for communications.
