... to take over Hounds of Hell, Center for Ants and probably Chavez Ravine.
If you know anyone who'd be interested, please send them this way.
Thanks.

I have loaded these teams into Yahoo w/ reserve accounts so we can get moving.
We are still looking for new team owners for them.

I will see about making reasonable player drops for these teams for the FA Draft Process -- have already made some needed drops to meet the 25-man limit.
Feedback is very welcome on this matter.

FYI, I've posted the potential drop lists for these 3 teams under their roster threads. Some of the drops are certainly debatable (and I've labeled them "maybe").
Let me know what y'all think. Thanks.

What are the prospects of finding new owners for 1 or more of these three teams before the start of the season? If the prospects are slim or none, then we probably should just leave these three teams alone and let them drift into the season until new owners can be found. There is not much sense for the league to manage three versions of the 2002-2004 Montreal Expos. We may start to run into situations that have at least the appearance of conflicts of interest.

At this point, it doesn't look like we'll find anybody to take them quickly -- unless I can get 1 or 2 of the previous owners to give them another shot. I just figured it'd still be good to try to improve those teams a little thru the Draft -- and maybe ask someone who won't have more than a couple (late) picks to help w/ making the draft selections.
I've actually been trying to find out what happened to Rob (Chavez Ravine owner), but he has not responded at all -- he's also gone suddenly MIA from one or two other leagues since January.
Anyway, if a few others feel the same way that we should just leave them adrift until we can find new owners, that's fine w/ me also.
Maybe we can still agree to the player drop lists for now and then hold off on actually making those drops for another couple days since those players would not be a factor in the (slow) Draft for the first day or two anyway. If we can find new owners quickly enough, then we'll just allow the new owners to either stick w/ those drop lists (or reduce them a little as they see fit, but not add any further drops).
How does that sound?

Ok. Just found someone (Jeff) to take over the Hounds of Hell.
One down. Two to go. ;D

Welcome to the league, Jeff. Good luck.
As for the drops for the remaining unclaimed teams, as long as you are actively seeking managers for them, you can proceed as you see fit. I would prefer that if either team has no manager by the time of the live draft, that we leave the team(s) alone so that we don't have to worry about drafting for them.

Well, if we're going to make those drops (or maybe smaller lists of drops), we'll probably need to do so a couple days into the slow draft and might not be able to wait all the way til the live draft. I was hoping to start the slow draft going tomorrow (or Monday at the latest).
Should I maybe go for a more conservative list of drops? Perhaps get rid of all the "maybe's" since most of them do actually have value (and would likely be taken at some points during the draft)?
I'd like to have this decided (along w/ the lists) before I process all the posted/PMed player drops for the league.
BTW, *IF* we go thru w/ this, I don't expect to be the one making draft picks for those unowned teams. I plan to be more active in the draft for my own team this time around (unlike previous years), so it's probably not good for me to also make picks for them. So far, I already have the Goober (Highlanders) offer to make picks for one (or both) unowned team -- and he said he will not be particularly active, if at all, for his own team.

BTW, I'm still looking for new owners for them, but as before, I'm just not particularly optimistic about the prospects of finding new ones in short order. Of course, I thought that before and then found Jeff. ;D Seems most folks tend to just want to play more standard type leagues, maybe something w/ more complex rules/twists on top, etc., but not something as different (and yet, simple enough) as this w/ our "screwy" looking points system. ;D And some just can't stand playing on Yahoo for whatever reasons or they only want a $$$ league.

FYI, I'm currently waiting for one potential new owner to get back to me before we decide on what to do w/ these 2 teams (and process all the player drops).
Hopefully, we'll get this settled really soon.
Thanks for everyone's patience on this.

Well, looks like the potential new owner cannot fully commit just now and had to back out. He still seems very interested, but will probably have to check back w/ us some other time later in the year.
Since I don't currently have any other promising leads, we will just move forward at this point w/ the FA Draft Process. I will process and post all the player drops later this afternoon -- and then, work on the draft order. Hopefully, we can get the draft started some time later tonight (or tomorrow morning at the latest).
I'm still trying to decide what to do w/ the 2 unowned teams, so please feel free to make some final suggestions on the matter. At the moment, I'm still leaning toward making some moderately conservative drops (probably minus most of the maybe's) for them and then have some other team owner (who only has minimal number of draft picks) help w/ making picks to fill those spots -- as mentioned earlier, I plan to be (much) more active in the draft for my own team this year, so I should not be making picks for these unowned teams.
Thanks for everyone's patience on all this.
