I would like to drop Brian Bruney, RP from my roster without penalty. I assume that this is possible.

Don't worry about dropping guys just yet. You will be given the opp to do so sometime before we run the FA draft although I'm not sure if Brian wants to put a limit on the number of drops allowed before the draft (like was done last year).
Also, we may want to consider allowing trades before the draft (and maybe also before the drop deadline), especially if people would like to be able to trade draft picks.

I'd just like to point out that "H. Matsui (NYY - LF,CF)" was not a free agent. He resigned with the Yankees before they dropped him. Since he only has 3 years of MLB service time he wouldn't have been eligible any other way. There was a provision in his contract stating that if the Yankees didn't sign him by a certain date they would be forced to drop him. If they dropped him they wouldn't be eligible to sign him until May 1st. He should not be a free agent in this draft.

I agree. Seems that Matsui did not actually enter free agency before signing an extension w/ the Yankees -- even though he showed up on ESPN's FA tracker. We will need to correct that. Unfortunately, I don't have access to fix the roster posts made by Brian -- don't know why since that was not the case last year.

And yeah, Peter, I'm in on it too -- conspiracy theory and all. I guess that means Bruce will be Young Guns then. ;D

I will be taking over the MikeHawks. Looks like I have quite the challenge ahead of me. First thing that I would like to do is change my team name to Center for Ants.
I'm hoping for a lot of bounce back years, and some smart draft picks to make me competitive this year.
Thanks for inviting me into the league. I hope I don't embarass myself as much as the original owner of my franchise did.

Welcome to the league, Garf.
Yeah, your team will need some serious workover. But I intend to help you out a little w/ a one-sided trade to start off -- as I mentioned elsewhere in the "concessions" thread. Also, the new draft format should help you some as well, but yeah, you have a big challenge ahead nonetheless.
Again, welcome to the league and check out the various discussions to get up to speed. If you have any questions, please do ask.
For other folks' info, Garf had expressed interest in taking over one of the weaker teams since mid-season last year (and was originally gonna take over the Admin team that went to John). He should make a great new owner to turn around the MikeHawks team.
PS: Garf, please do provide your email addy and YIM id for contact info -- you can enter them into your forum profile and/or post to the YIM contact thread. Thanks.

Sorry, guys, for the delay w/ this. I will put up the rosters for everyone in a separate thread. I was hoping to wait til all the FAs are officially declared in MLB since the league isn't active right now anyway. ;D

You guys can check the accuracy afterwards.
